BOLONKA ZWETNA

The breed description

The Bolonka Zwetna (Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka) is a small Russian dog breed that belongs to the group of social and companion dogs (breed group 9). It is a small, somewhat elongated dog. The height at the withers should be between 24 and 26 cm. The weight varies between 3 and 5 kg.

The Bolonka Zwetna is a small, compact dog. The skull looks larger and rounder because of the drooping ears, which only protrude slightly at first. The eyes are round and do not protrude. Eye and nose color can vary between black and various shades of brown. The tail is carried over the back and has long hair.

The fur

The Bolonka Zwetna is a long-haired dog whose coat is wavy to curly. A large curl is preferred. With regard to the color, all variations and drawings are permitted, but the white content must be as low as possible (max. 20%). The Bolonka is dense and generously hairy over the entire body, but the undercoat is completely or partially missing (so not very hairy).

The ideal type is that the Bolonka's coat is not clipped. Photos can be found on various websites of Russian breeders. In Germany, the vast majority of Bolonkas bear a coat that has been shortened with scissors for hygienic reasons and to facilitate grooming.

The character

The Bolonka Zwetna belongs to the companion dogs. He is very fixated on his people and quickly adapts to their rhythm of life. The Bolonka prefers to accompany its people everywhere and seeks constant contact, but without being intrusive. The Bolonka also feels great to you, they can comfort you like the best!

The Bolonka Zwetna is a full-fledged dog personality. They play, romp, fight, win and lose. A Bolonka can easily handle these situations if his owner gives him the chance. With his friendly, open character he wins people's hearts.

The Bolonka Zwetna likes to be active. Physical activities such as sports competitions and long walks are no problem for him. They are less suitable for joggers and cyclists. In addition, the Bolonka enjoys great spiritual challenges such as: Search games, obedience tasks, etc. This is also good for promoting the bond between dog and owner.
